About IISER Aptitude Test

IISER Aptitude Test is conducted for the admission to the BS-MS dual degree programme conducted by seven IISERs across India, namely IISER Pune, IISER Mohali, IISER Kolkata, IISER Bhopal, IISER Thiruvananthapuram, IISER Berhampur and IISER Tirupati.

IISER Aptitude Test is considered to be the easiest stream to get admission to IISERs. Other streams are KVPY and JEE Advanced, which are far way tougher than IISER Aptitude Test.

IISERs are some of the best institutes in India for BS-MS dual degree programme. IISERs gives more importance to research, and is expected to be the back bone of Indian scientific community in the coming years.

Notification for IISER Aptitude Test 2016 has been published at www.iiseradmission.in.

Those who have passed 12th or equivalent in 2015 and those who write 12th board exam this year are eligible to apply for IISER, provided they have scored more than the cut-off percentage of respective boards. Those who took computer science in 12th are also eligible to apply.

Important Dates (SCB Stream)

Opening of online Application Portal: 25 May, Wednesday

Closing of Application Portal: 22 June, Wednesday

IISER Aptitude Test: 3 July, Sunday

Result of IISER Aptitude Test 2016: 10 June, Sunday

Exam Pattern

There are 15 questions from each subject- Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Maths, total 60 questions. Exam will start at 10:00 AM and end at 1:00 PM. Each right answer is awarded 3 marks and 1 mark is debited for each wrong answer.

Exam is mainly concept based, with a few numerical questions. The exam is considered to be easier then JEE Mains and tougher than CEE exams like Kerala CEE. We have already published the posts ‘How to crack IISER Aptitude Test‘ and ‘IISER Aptitude Test Model Question Papers

However, there is no subject-wise cut-off marks for IISER Aptitude Test. You can leave a subject completely and focus on others, or maintain to score avereage in each subject. Students who have not learnt Biology in +2 level also can write the exam.
